Guy Turner. I have over 25 years’ experience in research and strategy in sustainability and the energy transition.
I spent my first 15 years in consulting at Ecotec, Entec and then Enviros Consulting, advising companies and governments on a wide range of sustainability issues.
In 2006 I joined New Energy Finance (NEF) where I set up and grew the carbon market research business (New Carbon Finance) which we then integrated into NEF. As part of the executive team I was actively involved in the sale of NEF to Bloomberg in 2009, and then continued as Head of Commodities and Chief Economist, building out power and gas market analysis and renewables economics.
In 2017 I joined the BP Economics team where I was responsible for global oil supply analysis and worked on BP's Energy Outlook covering the built environment and developing countries. For the last 2 years I worked at EDF Renewables as Strategy and Analysis Manager, overseeing market and financial analysis to support investments in offshore and onshore wind, solar, battery storage and hydrogen. In this time the business made substantial acquisitions in Irish offhore wind, grid scale battery storage and UK offshore wind.
I am also an investor in a number of early stage sustainable companies including Rezatec (satellite applications) and Enian (renewable energy project data). In my spare time I run the year group of four junior football squads.
I have undergraduate degrees in Mechnical Engineering and Economics, a Masters in Environnmental Technology and am a graduate of London Business School Corporate Finance Evening Programme.
